Mercedes-Benz is recalling 12,800 GLE and GLS 2020 models because of an electrical issue with the optional backlit logo located on the grill. Because the backlit logo’s wiring wasn’t installed properly and is sharing connection with other systems, a resulting loss of power might affect the power steering control unit, the driver-side headlight, and the wiper, increasing the risk of an accident.
Forced to disable this lighting element, the German manufacturer is offering refunds, a silver replacement logo or another option free of charge. If you own a Mercedez-Benz GLE or GLS and are experiencing some issues which haven’t been fixed in a reasonable number of attempts while under warranty, Lemon Law Aid can help you file a lemon claim to get it replaced or repurchased.
