Car companies occasionally tell consumers they are willing to repurchase or replace a lemon vehicle, and will then outsource that process to third-party “compliance” companies. We have seen other cases where these companies seek inappropriate deductions for negative equity. In both of these instances, the third-party compliance company is acting in violation of California’s lemon law and the buyers in those situations may have valid lemon law claims.
