Honda Pilot
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating the auto start feature in Honda Pilot vehicles after the Office of Defects Investigations received more than 200 complaints from owners whose vehicles failed to start. The failure of the auto start feature poses serious safety risks as Honda Pilots may not be able to start and may end up stranded in the middle of busy roads and freeways.

Drivers of 2016 – 2019 Pilots equipped with a 3.5L engine and 9-speed automatic transmission may experience their SUV failing to restart at red lights and intersections while the auto start function was on.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has confirmed that these problems are happening, prompting NHTSA to open an investigation. No recall has been issued at this time.

If you purchased or leased a 2016 – 2019 Honda Pilot in California that suffers from warranty defects that cannot be fixed in a reasonable number of attempts, usually as low as 2 repair attempts, Joseph Kaufman & Associates can help file a lemon claim to get your SUV replaced or repurchased pursuant to California’s lemon law. Best of all, it won’t cost you anything as your attorney’s fees and costs will be paid by Honda as part of the settlement.
