A class action lawsuit was filed in 2020 against General Motors, LLC (“GM”) in response to loss of power issues in 2013 – 2017 Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse, 2013 – 2016 GMC Acadia and 2017 GMC Acadia Limited vehicles. The loss of power is caused by a fuse block defect that can cause vehicle safety issues, including stalling, loss of acceleration, loss of power steering, and/or loss of power braking. While this class action alleges fraud and Consumer Legal Remedies Act claims, it is easy to see how the engine bay fuse block defect may also support individual lemon law claims. GM has paid almost $1 billion to settle civil and criminal cases arising out of a similarly devastating ignition switch defect.
California’s lemon law is a powerful tool for consumers who have purchased or leased vehicles in California that are plagues by dangerous safety defects. If you own or lease a 2013 – 2017 Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse, 2013 – 2016 GMC Acadia or 2017 GMC Acadia Limited vehicle and have experienced loss of power, loss of acceleration, loss of power steering, and/or loss of braking issues, please contact our office for a free case evaluation.
