GM lemon law help

A California Federal Court Judge refused to decertify a class action involving GM engine defects that cause those vehicles to shut down and potentially catch fire unexpectedly.

The class action involves GM’s Generation IV Vortec 5300 engine used in many of GM’s popular 2010 to 2014 model-year vehicles. Those engines may contain up to five internal defects that cause the engine to consume high amounts of oil and could lead to safety risks. Some of the alleged risks include the engine shutting off while on the road and catching fire, the suit claims. The classes cover owners of Chevrolet’s Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe, and GMC’s Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles from model years 2011 to 2014 with Generation IV Vortec 5300 engines.

If you own a Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban or Tahoe, or a GMC Sierra, Yukon, or Yukon XL with engine or other defects, please contact Lemon Law Aid for a free California lemon law case evaluation. Lemon law remedies are often far greater than class action remedies, thus if you have a vehicle with an engine or oil consumption defect a lemon law claim may be a better decision than accepting a smaller, class action remedy.
