Ford Motor Company is recalling 10,905 vehicles due to a flawed driveshaft that might detach and cause a sudden loss of power while driving or a fuel tank fire. The recall impacts 2020 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models which were manufactured in August/September 2019.
Explorer and Aviator owners should bring their SUVs to their local dealership which will inspect and replace the driveshaft if needed, free of charge. Recall status can be checked on the NTHSA’s website by entering 17-digit VIN number.
If you own a 2020 Ford Explorer or Lincoln Aviator vehicle and are experiencing issues that haven’t been fixed in a reasonable number of attempts while under warranty, Lemon Law Aid can help you file a lemon claim pursuant to California’s lemon law to have it replaced or repurchased.
