Ford announced a recall of approximately half a million vehicles due to a serious safety defect that increases the risk of injury to Ford owners. The impacted vehicles include 2018 to 2020 Ford F-150 vehicles, 2019 to 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty vehicles, 2018 to 2019 Ford Explorer vehicles, 2019 to 2020 Ford Expedition vehicles, 2020 Ford Explorer vehicles, and 2020 Lincoln Aviator vehicles. Seat belts are obviously important safety features and California’s lemon law mandates that car companies and their dealers fix safety defects in no more than 2 repair attempts.
An additional recall was announced related to the potential loss of power-steering assist which may result in an increased risk of an accident. The vehicles with the power-steering assist defect include 2013 to 2016 Ford Fusion vehicles, 2013 to 2016 Lincoln MKZ vehicles, 2015 to 2016 Ford Edge vehicles, and 2016 Lincoln MKX vehicles. This defect could potentially result in a loss of power-steering assist.
If your vehicle has a safety defect that was presented for repair at least 2 times, California’s lemon law may apply.
If you own one of the models mentioned above and are experiencing seat belt or power steering issues that have not been fixed in a reasonable number of attempts while under warranty, Lemon Law Aid can help you file a lemon claim to get your vehicle replaced or repurchased.
