Chrysler lemon law

FCA US LLC is facing another class action, this one involving its plug-in hybrid Pacifica minivans inexplicably combusting or exploding without warning because of an unknown defect in its propulsion system. The lawsuit alleges that although Chrysler advertises its 2017-2018 Pacific minivans as safe and reliable, they in fact are prone to catch fire or explode even when shut off. FCA US LLC has issued a recall acknowledging a problem and encouraging Pacifica minivan owners keep their vehicles a safe distance from buildings and other vehicles and stop charging them while it works to resolve the defect. The company previously put out two other fire-risk-related recalls on the 2017-2018 Pacifica, one in 2018 over unburned fuel getting in the exhaust system and another in 2020 over a corroded electrical connection in the car’s battery.

California has a strong consumer protection statute called the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, also known as the lemon law, and fortunately Californians who own or lease troubled Pacifica minivans may be entitled to lemon law settlements including buybacks and cash settlements. Our office has handled many Chrysler Pacifica minivan lemon law cases, and there certainly seem to be an increased number of warranty defects with Pacifica vehicles. If you bought or leased a Chrysler Pacifica minivan in California and have had to take it for multiple issues, or if you have received a recall notice from FCA US LLC telling you it is unsafe to park your vehicle at home, contact our office for a free lemon law case evaluation.
