A California federal court judge recently rejected GM’s motion to dismiss a class action involving 2015 to current model year Chevrolet Suburbans, Cadillac Escalades, Chevrolet Tahoes, and GMC Yukons/Yukon XLs, as well as all 2014 to current model year Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras. In September of 2019 GM announced a safety recall for nearly 3.5 million vehicles, stating that “in some circumstances these vehicles may have a condition in which the engine-mounted mechanical vacuum pump output may decrease overtime, decreasing the amount of vacuum/power brake assist.” But that recall did nothing to fix the defect, and scores of drivers who received repairs and replacements as part of the recall have complained to the NHTSA that they still experience braking problems, while some have complained that the “repair” made braking response worse
