2019 and 2020 Acura RDX owners have asked a judge to approve a $4 million class action settlement regarding a faulty touch screen infotainment system installed in their vehicles. The settlement may eliminate individual lemon law rights, so if you own or lease a 2019 and 2020 Acura RDX it is important to be aware of the settlement, and consider opting out if you bought or leased your vehicle in California and have four or more repair attempts for this defect.
The suit was originally filed in 2019 after many 2019 and 2020 Acura DX owners noticed the touch screen would freeze or crash and the rear-view camera did not function properly.
The case is Jimmy Banh et al. v. American Honda Motor Co. Inc., case number 2:19-cv-05984, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
If you own an Acura RDX and are experiencing issues that haven’t been fixed in a reasonable number of attempts while under warranty, Lemon Law Aid can help you file a lemon claim to get your Acura vehicle replaced or repurchased. It is important to know that California’s lemon law typically offers far greater remedies than class action settlements provide for consumers, and if you do not opt out you are usually automatically bound by the terms of the class action settlement.
