Jeep

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V is recalling 118,230 vehicles because the high voltage battery may fail and catch fire while on the road or parked.

The recall includes:

• 2020-2024 Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrids.
• 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrids.

Owners of affected models are urged to park outside away from building structures and other vehicles. In addition, they should refrain from charging their battery as the risk of fire is greater for charged batteries. Owners will be notified by mail starting October 17th, 2024. To fix this issue, FCA will update the battery pack control module software and replace the battery, if necessary, free of charge.

The NHTSA recall numbers for these 2 models are 24V-720 (Wrangler), 24E-080 (Grand Cherokee) and owners can also check the NHTSA website with their VIN number to find out if there are any pending recalls.
