Honda Motor Company

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (“Honda”) is recalling 1,693,199 million cars and SUVs because of a defective gearbox and spring that could lead to increased friction, difficult steering, and a risk of accident.

The recall includes:
2023-2025 Acura Integra
• 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S
• 2022-2025 Honda Civic / Hatchbacks
• 2023-2025 Honda Civic Type R coupes
• 2025 Honda Civic Hybrids / Civic Hatchback Hybrids
2023-2025 Honda CR-V / CR-V Hybrid SUVs
• 2025 Honda CR-V Fuel Cell SUVs
• 2023-2025 Honda HR-V SUVs

Drivers of these models might hear an abnormal noise and experience a sticky feeling when turning the steering wheel. According to NHTSA, there have been over 10,000 warranty claims but no related accidents have been reported so far.

Honda will notify owners of the affected vehicles so they can take them to their Honda or Acura dealership to fix this issue free of charge.

To find out if your vehicle is part of this recall, you can call Honda’s customer service at 888-234-2138 or check the NHTSA website (campaign 24V744) with your VIN number to find out if there are any pending recalls.
