Does your Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep or Ram vehicle have a 2.4L TigerShark MultiAir II engine? This includes the following vehicles: 2015-2016 Chrysler 200s, 2013-2016 Dodge Darts, 2016-2020 Fiat 500Xs, 2017-2020 Fiat Toros, 2014-2020 Jeep Cherokees, 2017-2020 Jeep Compass’, 2015-2020 Jeep Renegades, and 2015-2020 Ram ProMaster vans.
If so, you might be receiving a notice regarding a lawsuit called “Amber Wood, Ashley Schuchart, Karen Burke, and Danielle Coates v. FCA US LLC.”
On April 29, 2020, a class action lawsuit was filed against the manufacturer of the above vehicles (FCA US LLC). It is alleged that the manufacturer knowingly sold millions of these vehicles with a defect that causes them to consume abnormally high amounts of oil. This could cause the highly dangerous act of these engines unexpectedly stalling while driving and leading to crashes.
Even though a class action has been filed related to FCA US LLC’s oil consumption defect, you still have individual lemon law rights that in most cases are far stronger than the class action remedies. You can become part of the class action or “opt-out” and file your own suit.
If you own a new or used vehicle with this engine, have concerns about its oil consumption, or receive any correspondences regarding this class action lawsuit, fill out the form below and we would be happy to discuss your rights and options.
