Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC was recently hit with a class action filed in New Jersey related to certain 2018 to 2020 Range Rover diesel vehicles. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC is alleged to know that the “diesel particulate filter” was susceptible to clogging under certain driving conditions and that the warning lights were inadequate. Despite knowing about these problems, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC is alleged to have hidden these defects from consumers. The DPF warning light system — which flashes amber when regeneration is needed and red when the filter is full and service is required — also typically “activates only after it is too late for regeneration to occur, necessitating costly replacement of the DPF,” according to the complaint.
California consumers who have bought or leased 2018 – 2020 Range Rover diesel vehicles who have experienced diesel particulate filter issues, or any other defect for that matter, are protected by California’s lemon law. If you own or lease a 2018, 2019, or 2020 Range Rover diesel that has been serviced at a Range Rover dealer more than once for this issue, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC may be obligated to repurchase that vehicle in compliance with California’s lemon law.
